Research Associate
The first level in the SOLIDWORKS Partner Product Program is becoming a Research Associate. This is required to become a Certified Solution Partner and to achieve Gold Product certification.
Who can apply?
The SOLIDWORKS Partner Program might be a fit for your organization if:
- You have or plan to have, a product or service of value for sale to the SOLIDWORKS client base.
- Your release to the market is ready or will be within two years.
- Your organization is a commercial entity having a principal place of business.
- Your solution involves a direct integration or full compatibility with a SOLIDWORKS product.
- Your solution, domain, and business model are fully complementary with the Dassault Systemes and SOLIDWORKS portfolios.
Both steps below are REQUIRED and MUST be completed for your application to be processed. We are unable to process partial or incomplete applications.
STEP 1 (Required)
Download and complete the Partner Program Application Questionnaire. Carefully complete the questionnaire as your responses will be used to evaluate your application and the review process. Email the completed Partner Program Application Questionnaire to SOLIDWORKS.PartnerProgram@3ds.com. The email subject line must include: “Research Associate Application Questionnaire” and your Organization Name. Continue to Step 2 to complete your application.
STEP 2 (Required)
Complete and submit the online Research Associate Application and Partner Program Agreement. Applicants are required to accept the Partner Program legal terms and conditions in the agreement and agree to ship their product to SOLIDWORKS or to demonstrate its conformance with the program.
NOTES:
Research Associate-level applications are processed on a first-in, first-out basis.
We must receive ALL the information requested above within two weeks of your initial submission to continue processing your application. Failure to provide all the information in that timeframe will result in no further consideration being given to your application, and we will have no obligation to notify you. Partial or incomplete applications cannot be processed.
The time it will take us to determine that your product has the potential to align with the mission of the SOLIDWORKS community can vary. Please be advised that applications can take up to six weeks to be processed.
Unfortunately, because of the volume of applications we receive, we are not able to provide status updates. Following our review, you will receive notification from the SOLIDWORKS Partner Program whether your application has been accepted or declined.
Once you are accepted as a Research Associate there are application tasks, in addition to reviews and approvals to continue working with SOLIDWORKS at other levels. This information can be found here.

As a Research Associate you will received the following benefits:
- A copy of the latest version of SOLIDWORKS to use during the R&D phase of your SOLIDWORKS-compatible product.
- Gain access to the SOLIDWORKS Application Programming Interface (API) support team and resources for assistance as you develop your product.
- Obtain a user name and password to access the Partner Desktop—a secure web site with partner marketing information, technical resources, and online store where you may purchase additional SOLIDWORKS licenses.
