DESCRIPTION: Provide leadership, direction and relevant insights for Web Marketing activities that establish, enhance and protect the brand, increase consumer awareness and maximize market share by driving user traffic and lead capture. Collaborates with the CEO and product teams to develop and grow SolidWorks’ brand presence and lead generation efforts in both internal and external online communities, and works with the SolidWorks MIS and other Marketing teams to develop comprehensive Marketing programs that leverage those channels. At least 50% of this person’s time will be spent in a strategic development and planning capacity, whereas the other half will be focused on execution of digital marketing plans and responsibilities. Responsible for managing a Web Marketing budget and making fiscally sound decisions with regard to paid and natural search activities, email marketing acquisition and retention programs, lead management, document management, website communities, and the latest in multimedia content development and delivery. Brainstorms concepts, manages and coordinates content, image, and multimedia asset creation and oversees development and implementation. Develops a scalable, modularized, and robust web infrastructure for SolidWorks.com and supporting applications to meet the requirements of various business groups. Must be well-versed in general web and community best practices, usability standards, the role Flash and video play in a successful web experience, the specifics of A/B testing and multi-variant testing to ensure metrics-based decision making practices and the role mobile devices will play in the future of the web.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sets the direction and strategy for overall SolidWorks web assets including corporate website architecture, web marketing, design, and support processes
- Provides senior-level support and counsel for global online Marketing initiatives, including effective communication with all levels of SolidWorks management
- Investigate and implement new technologies, services and automation capabilities and/or vendor solutions that enhance overall site efforts. Secures premium partnerships with best-of-breed web service providers and manages the on-going relationships with those providers – including contract negotiations and service level agreements.
- Responsible for project management and the technical oversight of site production from start to finish for SolidWorks’ global web properties
- Responsible for effective creative development and execution to support brand, social, program and online media efforts
- Create new sources of customer acquisition channels through innovative thinking, ideas and business development relationships
- Serves as project lead and strategic planner for Marketing’s Web Content Management System.
- Oversees Search Engine Optimization (SEO) efforts and pay-per-click advertising
- Manages SolidWorks.com web reporting integration and deployment and establish metrics to track conversions and ROI
- Deliver compelling competitive analysis, audience analysis, industry trends and client-facing and internal direction to identify and address key marketing challenges and solutions. Understands enterprise application architectures and implementations including Siebel and Jive
- Sets direction and strategy for multilingual websites and global marketing programs
- Effectively manages a team of web marketing professionals
- Approves client billing and budgets
- Seeks to build additional business opportunities with clients and other appropriate businesses
- Uses social media technologies to listen to, engage with, and intersect consumers in the online and offline space
- Recruit additional web marketing talent
- Oversees development of internal market research communities including moderation, community management functions, content development and creation, and analytics and reporting. This includes leading the feedback loop to continuously improve the community, products and services.
- Manage domain-related efforts as tied to Marketing initiatives; includes interacting with IT and Legal resources
- Partner with the strategy and planning group to keep a pulse on consumers using online community measurement and brand tracking tools
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience within a public company in a hands-on, entrepreneurial type environment preferred
- Experience working with online communities and business/social networking required
- Proven track record of success in non-traditional, forward thinking online marketing strategies
- Experience leveraging the online space to manage the relationship between brands and consumers
- Demonstrated experience in the development of digital content strategies, including management across a variety of social media platforms
- 13+ years online marketing experience in hi-tech business-to-business environment including:
- Minimum of three years search engine and pay-per-click advertising experience
- Minimum of three years experience with web analysis and related reporting software
- Minimum of three years email marketing experience
- Minimum five years of experience in web infrastructure and architecture planning
- Minimum of two year experience in the social media and/or community space
EDUCATION: BA/BS in marketing related field; MBA preferred
