The Mark One is the world's first 3D printer capable of making composite parts out of nylon, reinforced with continuous strand carbon fiber, Kevlar or fiberglass. The Mark One has two nozzles: a main nozzle for extruding the nylon and a second, composite-reinforcing nozzle. It is possible to print dimensionally accurate, stable nylon parts for fit and finish testing or to print nylon composite parts with reinforcing layers. The Mark One software can automatically add fiber reinforcement to CAD models with one click or give the user granular control, like selecting between concentric fiber layers or isotropic fiber layers and determining fill pattern and density.
