Overview
Product activation is a significant improvement in the SolidWorks
and COSMOS licensing process that was first introduced as part of
SolidWorks 2006 commercial single-user (standalone)
licenses.

Product
activation was gradually rolled-out during SolidWorks 2007 and it
will reach all regions of the world by SolidWorks 2007 (SP4).
SP4 will introduce this technique to the following areas:
- Latin America: all remaining VAR areas
- Europe: Western and Central European regions
- Asia-Pacific: Korea, India, and other remaining regions

Throughout this phased rollout, product activation has proven
to offer the SolidWorks community various advantages:
- A secure, and hassle-free process that authenticates licensed
users
- A consistent licensing process that works for both SolidWorks
and COSMOS products
- Licensing that is consistent with from other leading software
companies
- A deterrent to unauthorized use of SolidWorks products with
a minimal effect on you, our loyal customer
