What is Model Mania?

Model Mania® is a worldwide competitive speed-modeling challenge, in which participants create a 3D model using SOLIDWORKS or xDesign based on a provided drawing. Be the first to create and submit the part with the correct mass to claim victory!

Why participate?

Participation earns you a Free CSWA Voucher. Winning the challenge earns you bragging rights and potential opportunity to be featured on the SOLIDWORKS YouTube Channel.

Participating in Model Mania online is the perfect practice for the annual Model Mania Challenge at 3DEXPERIENCE World, where you can participate in-person to win cash prizes!

How to participate?

SOLIDWORKS Model Mania Cad Challenge Example

Use this entry form to participate in the challenge. Be sure to fill as much information as possible before the challenge goes live, so you’re ready to submit your file and mass.
Open SOLIDWORKS or xDesign and create a new part, so you are ready for when the challenge goes live and the drawing becomes available.
Once the challenge goes live the drawing will be shown on the SOLIDWORKS YouTube channel.
Once you’ve completed the model, save SLDPRT (for SOLIDWORKS) or export 3DXML (for xDesign) and submit your mass and file.

Model Mania Xtreme

Model Mania Xtreme brings live, fast-paced CAD action to the Playground with epic, head-to-head 3D modeling challenges inside a full boxing-ring arena. Attendees can jump into the ring to take on a modeling challenge themselves, or simply enjoy watching experts tackle complex parts under pressure while picking up tips and workflows along the way. Featured battles showcase SOLIDWORKS design tools and special guests throughout the event.
